Stupid Young Heart awarded with Crystal Bear in Berlinale Generation 14plus

Stupid Young Heart, directed by Selma Vilhunen, has been awarded with Crystal Bear for the best Film in Berlinale Generation 14plus.

Stupid Young Heart is an edgy and warm drama about suburban teenagers, who unexpectedly have to deal with grown up problems of pregnancy, while extreme right wing ideas enter their multicultural neighbourhood. The script is written by Kirsikka Saari.

The lead parts of the film are played by Rosa Honkonen and Jere Ristseppä. Other acting talent includes Ville Haapasalo, Pihla Viitala, Katja Küttner and Abshir Sheikh Nur.

Film is produced for Tuffi Films by Elli Toivoniemi and Venla Hellstedt. The international co-producers for the film are Annemiek van der Hell / Windmill Film (Netherlands) and Nima Yousefi / Hobab (Sweden).

This year, a total of 62 films from 37 different countries were presented in the Generation section. The section features films for young audiences.
