Hobbyhorse Revolution nominated for the European Film Academy Youth Audience Award

Tuffi Films production, the documentary film Hobbyhorse Revolution directed by Selma Vilhunen, has been selected of one of only three nominees in the EFA Youth Audience Award.

An international youth jury will vote for the winner on 6th May 2018 in screenings organized by EFA across 36 cities in Europe and beyond.

Hobbyhorse Revolution is a funny and moving documentary about teenagers with growing pains who discover their own voice and talent through making and riding hobbyhorses. It is produced by Tuffi’s Elli Toivoniemi and Venla Hellstedt and has been distributed in cinemas in Finland, Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands. North American distribution will commence in the Spring 2018.

The film has been nominated in the ‘Best Documentary’ category in the national film awards in Finland. The Finnish Cultural Foundation awarded the Director Selma Vilhunen with a Grand Prix for significant cultural achievements in February 2018. Vilhunen received the Nordic Council Film Prize in 2017 for her debut feature Little Wing. Vilhunen’s short fiction Do I Have to Take Care of Everything? was an Oscar-nominee in 2014.

Hobbyhorse Revolution is a co-production with Bautafilm, Sweden and has been financed by the Finnish Film Foundation, Avek, The Finnish Broadcasting Company Yle, Nordic Film & TV Fund, SVT, The Swedish Film Institute, Filmpool Nord and Film i Västerbotten.
